If you've ever visited my website bio, I'm sure you'd agree it's time for an update. If this is your first time here, then, welcome! My name's Ron Wilder, and you'll hear my melodious tones nights, weekends and almost every hour in between on this fine station.
Originally from Texas City (Galveston County represent, yo!), I've now lived in Austin for 10 1/2 years. This is where I'm supposed to tell you how great it is to live in Austin, but if you live here, you already know that.
Okay, I can't help it... it's awesome. Wild horses couldn't drag me away from here!
I've got two degrees from UT-Austin, neither of which I'm actively using.
Just like almost everyone else. I stumbled upon radio shortly before I graduated when I took an internship with the JB & Sandy Morning Show. To this day, you'd be hard pressed to find a better intern than me. Did I mention I'm also incredibly humble?
Everyone on our airstaff has a special skill. Bridget Taylor's double-jointed, Carey Edwards has x-ray vision... although both would disavow any knowledge this is you asked them. My special skill? I have the uncanny knack for settling bar bets when it comes to "who sang that song?"
Without fail, I know who sang that song. Don't believe me? Okay... the song you're thinking of right now was done by the Sundays... or was it the Rolling Stones? I'm terrible at this.
